Frankey is an Amsterdam-based artist and designer whose work finds the extraordinary in the everyday. Trained in Industrial Design at Delft University of Technology, his practice moves freely between art, design and engineering. Sculpture, objects, installations, interventions and inventions all become ways to explore an idea. Sometimes inspired by a place, sometimes by an object, a memory or simply something hiding in plain sight. Drawing from childhood memories, popular culture, architecture and everyday life, Frankey transforms familiar forms and references into something unexpected. His work combines a strong conceptual foundation with craftsmanship, technical ingenuity and a subtle sense of mischief. Playful and immediately accessible, it often reveals another layer upon closer inspection. This distinctive approach has gained recognition both in the Netherlands and internationally, through solo exhibitions, museum presentations, gallery shows and commissioned works.
